Ray Roberts Report - 09/21/16 10:10 AM

Tuesday, Wayne wanted to learn to fish treetops, so we took the bass boat and headed up the creeks. Sure glad he got his limit by 11am. Very little wind and hot, hot sun. But the crappie are biting. As usual, the bite would slow when the wind would go to zero, then the bite would pick up as we got a breeze. The fast ticket was minnows. Two or 3 keepers per tree. Once the small ones, bass or drum bite, move to next tree. We fished 18-25ft deep trees. Was a good morning. Crappie are biting good.

Stayed home today due to the rain. Had a good week anyway. Friday and Saturday were good days. Was a little cooler weather. Crappie still biting good. Fished mainly trees. Same story 16-25ft. The jig bite is back on for us. Blk/chartreuse, blue ice and Cajun cricket all producing fish. And minnows are still a fast catch too. Still lots of small fish but plenty of keepers to bring home. Can't wait to get back out on the water next week with the cooler weather.

Gonna be a great autumn!! Was great last year too!! You can catch crappie all over this lake. East and west side. North and south ends. Hope the shad holds out this winter too.
