Ray Roberts Report - 09/15/16 11:40 PM

Had a trip this morning. We started about 7:30 am. Launching at Isle Du Bois Sate Park. It was nice a cool this morning. With no breeze I knew if was gonna get hot quick. As everyone settled in the boat. I gave a quick run down on how we would be catching our fish today! We fished mainly on the COE piles today. Our first stop was by the swim beach. It was holding some fish but a lot of dinks. We caught like two keepers of the pile. After that pile I worked my way east. Next stop it was game on. Once the sun came up high the bite fired up. Robert was telling his sun next to him. "See this how it's supposed to be". Lots of laughs and fist bumps going on. As they boated their fish. It was box fish after box fish. It was almost like if we were fishing for sandbass the action was so good. It didn't last to long. The bite died off. So know I knew what my next move was. The crappie where in 25 foot of water. Sitting about 15-20 foot down. Fishing for them vertical with live minnows. Large minnows worked the best. If you didn't catch a fish within two minutes. All you had to do was swim it to the left or right. BAM FISH ON! Most bites where light. Or they just slacked up the line. It definitely was a stick and move day! If you want to learn how to catch crappie or put fish in your freezer. Give me a call. I guarantee you will catch fish. The fall bite is firing up! It's only gonna get better from here. Hope this helps someone this week.

Tight Lines,
Kevin McCullough
