Good day at Joe Pool!

Good day at Joe Pool! - 09/02/16 05:43 PM

Had a good time this morning at Joe Pool! Fished only new spots from 8:00 to about 10:30 and caught 23 slabs with about 10 keepers. All were caught 10'-13' in standing timber. I would catch two or three pretty quick on each tree I would come to then move on to the next. Most of the time they would hammer the jig hard right after the fall. Big fish of the day was a goodun at 15.75" and 1.45lbs. All fish were released to be caught another day.

Here's one with the weapon of choice! thumb

The pool treated me right yesterday. I had 23 keepers and left them biting. I need to find a clicker. I lost count and figured I better stop before I went over 25. Big fish of the day was right at 2lbs.

Was that on the east arm or the west? I've only been on Pool once and never made it too the east side.

They both produce fish well. Just depends on where you want to fish.

Fishbonz, the south side, we park on the median. The north side, at the marina and walk to the bridge.
Worth it to tube....

Dang it! I sold my tube last year. I'm sure that would be a blast from the tube.

I wasn`t sure but I remember you and JE used to just Kill em under there and since I have an artificial knee, I couldn't handle that walk to bridges from the Marina. Thanks for setting me strait on that. WMB thumb

It's the best way to fish. My boat sits in the garage while I'm tubing.

Bonz, the walk from the south bridge is minimal. Park about 30 feet from the beginning of the concrete under the bridge.
