Terrific day on Lewisville - 08/29/16 12:52 AM
I have people often tell me that they don't fish Lewisville because it's mainly a water ski/big boat lake. Too crowded and busy to have much fishing.
Not true. Rarely do I notice much boat traffic that bothers my fishing.
Most of the jet ski's and skiers come out later than I fish anyway.
Fishing for the last couple of weeks has been pretty good with most trips producing 12-20 fish over 12" plus many short fish.
Today Rick and I decided to fish but were tired of going to the same old spots so we elected to fish only area's we haven't ever or recently fished.
In four hours we caught and released over 150 total fish with 38 over 12".
Any cover, stumps, rocks, concrete foundations (there are a lot) held good fish. 12'-20' depth. 1/8 oz jig heads, any color body (we used thump buddies) worked today. Most of what we fished today were old bushpiles or stumps that were pretty much rotted away or gone but they held bigger fish than the newer ones.
Got to hot by noon, had to quit. Quite a good day.
