Cedar Creek, etc.

Cedar Creek, etc. - 08/25/16 12:16 AM

Wanted to catch up with my new online friends, none of whom I've actually met, but hope to soon.

First and most importantly, a miracle was performed on my son -- but there's much more to go. You may have read my post several weeks back (if you did, and you prayed, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please do not stop. Pray for Jacob Parrott to regain his vision.) My son is an 18-rear-old young man, baseball player, Oregon commit and great student who had a catastrophic injury to his eye. Here's a link to an article that does a good job capturing where things stand.

Second, we now own a home on Cedar Creek, and will become full-timers very soon. I shared a photo of our property in a previous post. The dock is amazing: 900 SF -- all concrete. It's in Enchanted Oaks. Not sure what the locals call that arm but we have good water.

Third, I've had the chance to crappie fish a few times in the past couple weeks, and done pretty good on some brush piles one of you obviously put out. Since the temp dropped, it's been more challenging, but I can't wait until the fall!

I'd love to meet some of you, and fish Cedar Creek together. I never tire of fishing, and plan to learn about the hybrids and catch bass as well. Heck, I even bought Wheaties, to sit on my dock and catch carp! So if you're of a mind, shoot me a note and let's go fishin' sometime soon!

One question: I moved four crappie from a brush pile to under my dock. Anyone have experience doing that? Will they stay? I suspect not, unless it's the right time of year.

P.S. - Ernest Paty: You said when you saw the picture of my dock that you knew right where it was. I'd love to connect with you and talk -- and maybe fish sometime.

Our minds usually ask why these things happen and there is no logical answer. When we let God take control, things turn out well. May not be the exact result we would want, but situations seem to bring out the best in people and we understand things as we never did before.
Seems this unfortunate accident has already turned around and lives have been touched for the better. Thanks for the update.
Continued prayers for your son and family.

Sorry to hear about your son, hopefully he will continue to improve.

Many times after a rain crappie will relocate to a different area. I think it has to do with clarity of water this time of year rather than temperature.

Also if you are using jigs you may venture thru some colors to see if the crappie have changed preference for the color they will hit if the water is more stained than before.
