At Oak Park high water pulled away the dock, corp. pushed it onto the boat ramp....
This is now good.... lake 9.95' above normal, but gates are open.......

I had read in the past that all the high water may kill the trees in the parks. In the photo above, the trees look good. DO they look good in most locations around the lake? Camping would not be the same without the shade trees.

Lots of trees died.... Corp. is paying contractors to cut em down and haul em off.....
Makes me sick......

Oak park has 12 sites closed due to dead trees from last years flood! "Brushy Prairie Park closed due to current flood.

Oak Park:
12 sites in Oak Park are closed due to hazardous trees (trees killed from flood last year) and current flood.
Boat ramp, courtesy dock, and fishing pier closed due to current flood.
Oak - Group Shelter closed due to hazardous trees, playground closed - flood damages, swim beach closed - current flood.

Liberty Hill:
Liberty Hill swim beach closed - current flood
1 boat ramp closed due to flood
Fishing pier and both courtesy docks closed due to flood damage and/or current flood
10 sites closed due to hazardous trees and/or current flood
Group Shelter closed due to current flood

Wolf Creek:
Wolf Creek group shelter closed - flood damage
Bathrooms #4, #5, and #6 closed due to flood damages, sites 36, 42-77 closed due to flood damages (37 sites)

Pecan Point: Closed due to flood damages

Oak Park Day Use: Closed due to flood damages

I think that size of tree may become a boating hazard. We've had back to back years of Lake Somerville over flood stage by 22 feet and this year had it happen twice since Memorial day. So the trees can become a problem for boaters.

Well I was afraid of that, just hope they aren't jumping the gun, they've had big oak trees seem to come back from the dead 2 years after a major flooding event around whitney, just because they didn't leaf out this year doesn't mean their goners just under stress.
