Eagle Claw hook question

Eagle Claw hook question - 04/18/16 12:45 AM

For spider rigging, I've made my own Capps and Coleman style rigs for years now. On the minnow only rigs, I pretty much use size 2 Eagle Claw Aberdeen hooks exclusively. I've switched between their gold, red and bronze hooks over the years. Other than the obvious color difference, does anyone know any other differences between the three? Is one stronger? Does one bend easier? Is one less hard on minnow lips? Is one easier to get out of snags? I know the bronze ones rust easier.
Depending on the packaging and location purchased, I've seen some labeled "light wire panfish" and some "crappie select" and others just plain. They all seem the same (strength wise) to me, but does anyone know different? Maybe they are all the same and that would be good information too.
Thanks.
