Get you one of these.

and cut the bulb ends off and put a notch on the small end and drill a hole on the other end. Attach to a lanyard with a yoyo gadget and you have a lightweight crappie de-hooker for those times when they take your jig a little deep. Just put the notch on the bend of the hook and push down until free.

It is light so you can wear it around your neck all day and it is ready when you need it. And it is quicker than trying to find or get your pliers out and will do less damage to the fish.

Please understand that I am currently applying for a patent so if you make your own you will need to send me a check for $19.95 to cover the royalty fee.

Since you will have to make it yourself, there is no shipping. The $19.95 covers the Royalty fee.

I've never met you but do you have someone that can use the hacksaw and drill for you? Just messing with you.

I had a couple from work. I would imagine you could get one from an Office Supply store.

Genius - I am just going to grind them off, I'm no EMO.

I use one of the carabiner things that also retracts. I put my clippers on them and that has been awesome. I also have one with a belt clip.

Easier to file down the hook point, then the fish come right off and it's free. Just saying...

Re: 5 Minute Project. - 04/13/16 09:16 PM

Took me 3 hours to find my extra plastic hook removers. So I figured that is worth tne 19.95. Thanks for the idea. I put green braided trot line thru mine in place of the yoyo gadget. What I like about the whole set up is hopefully when you remove a hook , there is a long slot on mine on one side where I made the slot to push it down. It looks like if you do it right the hook itself will stay hidden in that slot while you extract it out. There by not hanging up on another part of the fish. I also made the hole for the string below the large end knob, I did not cut the large knob off, it makes it look cool and gives a better hand hold. Thanks Again.
