Lewisville: from NOT to HOT

Lewisville has been very eratic this spring but it looks like the worm has turned.

Thursday morning I found a lot of shallow fish, 1'-3' hitting jig and bobber and 1/16 oz roadrunners. Look for weeds and old brush in backs of coves.

Friday the same. Found some fish hitting roadrunners along shore in the dark. (5-6:30 AM) once it got light enough to see they quit or left.

Sat: Afternoon was the best slip fishing all year. Guy and I caught over 100 fish in two hours. Filleted 40 of the bigger ones. Freezer is full for awhile.

Ernest - shortly after you left on Thursday, they turned on for about 30 minutes. Caught a lot at the same corner spot. Put the largest one in your basket, and exchanged it for two smaller ones. They were yummy later that evening.

Again, jig color did not seem to matter.

Weekend was a bit wet and windy. Thank god for the Marina fishing. Sat. morning at the slip was fair early then slowed down drastically about ten. Had a few bucket condo's in my boat storage shed so Guy and I picked them up and hung them in an empty stall. Caught 5 fish around one within 30 min.

Sun. Fished early around shore cover. Caught 24 in 12"-24" deep water (and got soaked in the rain) hard to stop when the fish are biting. Went back after noon when rain stopped and caught 26 more. I love/hate spring fishing. All fish released.

Best bait was 1/16 oz roadrunner, any color.
