My dad and I somewhere - 04/05/16 03:31 PM
4:30 am I'm up drinking my first cup of coffee, and my 1 12oz V8 for the day and dad sends a text, "you up" I respond with a yes getting dressed. I head over to his house and we load up the boat in to the back of my truck.
I ask dad where are we going and I get, you're the loose nut behind the wheel. I name off Palestine, Cader Creek, Aquila, Jacksonville, Navarro, Fork, and a few others. We narrowed down to Fork and Palestine as we drove off.
4 miles from the house I turn around, dad asking why, we forgot the trolling motor and paddles. Back on the road I say Fork that's where we are going.
I call Mr. Box and he gives me a few places and what to look for. Get to the ramp call him back and he gives me a few last minute tips. We unloaded hooked the trolling motor, battery and graph up. Dad Parks the truck.
It's a 5 to 10 mph wind. I turn the graph on and take off. Pull up to the first spot nothing.( The whole time dad asking what do you see on the graph?) Next spot, moving on from spot to spot. Dad ask we gona fish or not. I tell Dad the graph does not show anything. ( I'm still not sure I knew what to look for!)
The wind hits the High mark and I'm trying to hold a spot that looks good. No takers we fished Fork for about 4 hours.
We talk about going to Winnsboro. And end up going to Hawkins. We finally hit some fish. We returned'em all.
It was a great day.
