Grapevine on the rise AGAIN

Grapevine on the rise AGAIN - 03/08/16 06:12 PM

Grapevine has already came up a foot. It got down to 7 ft high and will probably end up around 10-15 ft high again. Wont be much spawn fishing on Grapevine this year AGAIN. It amazes me how we can't just get a normal rain but have to get a week of it with up to 5-8 inches. Maybe next year.

It has been a very strange last couple of years weather wise for sure. hmmm

Side Note: We are fixing to get hammered down here in the San Antonio area. We can really use the rain but not the flooding. thumb

Grapevine can hold a lot of water with the steep cliffs and not many houses being right on the lake. Lewisville has a lot more houses on the lake so they focus on that lake first. Sucks but that's how it is.

Up 1.76 feet since yesterday. Just when it was almost getting back to normal. It was dropping about a foot a week.

Lewisville is dumped directly into the trinity river from the Lake Lewisville Dam Basin. Grapevine dumps directly into Denton Creek which then dumps directly into the Trinity river. The COE decides what and when depending on what is happening down stream.

It appears they let more water out of Lewisvile over Grapevine but you have to also understand that they dump Ray Roberts into Lewisville. So in essence there are two lakes to draw down north and one west.....

Grapevine is already up 2.5 feet. This is not going to be good.
