Searching new water

I never made it to Cedar Creek on Sunday so I don't have a report. It seems that I made a left turn instead of a right off of the highway from Kaufman to a GEM of a state park. Its not hard to find structure in this Lake. Its sticking out of the water every were. I concentrated on topics that I have been reading on the forum in previous weeks about the fish moving to the back of creek channels, so that's exactly what I focused on. I found a creek channel and began a search and hook set mission. There were fish chasing shad every were the length of the creek channel, so I went probing with a Bobby Garland baby shad in black and chartreuse in water about 9' deep. I was amazed at the quality and size. I never caught a fish under 12" with a total fish count of 23. All catch and release, figured I owed them one and just one. I will be back.

Nice! I practice catch and release too...anything under 11 inches goes back into the lake and anything over that is released in to the ice chest. peep

Good catch though!

9' was the magic depth today!
