She said "I'm SPOILED!"

Monday evening Belinda & I were sitting under the picnic table umbrella admiring the wash job she had just finished on my boat.
I looked at her and cocked an eyebrow. She followed up and stated "When you take me fishing here, we always boat some Big Fork Slabs,
And that's what I want you to do to pay me back for cleaning all the crappie slime out of your boat!"

I quickly got a mental picture of this past months trips and knew I had my work cut out for me!

I took Red Snappa out and after we set out 2 of my PVC condos, we started fishing........We struggled all day to boat 6 keepers!

I took Eric out and had almost the same results - 8 keepers!!!!

I had David Goodson out with me....It was a very slow, but productive morning. It didn't help that gale force winds were blowing either!!!



The wind was blowing so hard, I actually tied up to 2 trees!!!



At 1 point, I looked up into the sky and yelled "Is that ALL you got!"
It wasn't!!! A wave crashed over the front of my boat shortly afterwards

David kept saying that he was a jinx and the slow fishing and wind was because he made the trip to fish with me
About that time, David set the hook on his 1st keeper



That afternoon, the wind subsided some and the bite got fast & furious



The last place we fished was AWESOME!!!

After pulling several quality fish up, both of us set the hook at the same time
The picture doesn't do the fish justice and David's was actually larger - double selfie!



David's last fish was the largest of the day - 1.94#



Although we didn't keep count, we both agreed that the day was a success

I had the pleasure of taking Bill Carr out
The fishing was slow, but we both caught some nice fish and had a load of fun!
We also checked my PVC and caught a few small crappie and a 3 1/2# bass





I'm pretty sure that Mr. Carr took both the smallest & largest honors

All of this flashed thru my head when Belinda said she wanted to go and I knew the only thing I really had going for me
was that the fish were finally starting to settle into their summer haunts and I had several that needed checking.

Although we got a late start, Belinda & I started catching fish right out of the gate, but no quality fish.
But the deeper the spots I checked, the better the fish got





It was a great day to be on the water, overcast with just enough wind to keep you from getting too hot

Almost every spot we checked, the fish were bigger at



After the livewell started to look full, I was saving fish for the girls at my doctors office, we decided to head in and call it a day.
On the way back to the ramp, I decided to check my PVC condos, idled over them and it was clear, the fish had set up camp!!!
Immediately Belinda set the hook on the biggest fish of the day
I had taken the batteries out of my scale to prevent corrosion, but have no doubt it broke 2#'s easy



I put them under 20#'s of ice and after a quick count this morning, realized we had 28 for the gals at my doc's


The closet small fish is 11"s



All fish but 1 were caught on the Mr. Fry in Pearl Ice on a Blue Sparkle 1/16 #4 jig head.

In Conclusion, SHE IS SPOILED!
And I'm going to do my best to keep her so

Good report but some of us are taking note that when Belinda goes the fish or bigger and more of them. Slow on Caney fork of lake but hear of or see someone most days that got there at right time, place, and jig to do good.

Way to go Todd and Belinda. That Pearl Ice Mr. Fry is deadly. I am trying to put together my short wish list before we fish Fork next month. I know it's going to be hot but I hope there is very little wind for this one.

I have to say, this is a great couple team.
Todd has the boat and the right equipment.
Belinda makes the jigs and catches the fish.
Todd, she sure makes you look good. LOL!!!

+1 on the boat cleaning. I will be headed that way soon. Hope you have some Little Fry in the Monkey Milk color. I guess you still haven't needed to try that color.

wind is a good thing on fork. Wind = no bugs

Put your wife on the Big Fish and she will clean your boat
She just got thru making 3 more condos

She had to run a small batch to fill an order the other day, so yes, she has some more and No, I haven't dropped it yet

And therein lies the problem......

I ask my wife to clean my boat and she thought I was talking dirty.
