Well taking a quote from one of my favorite actors(Popeye), I ventured to the previously unseen areas of the lake yesterday. Been years since I've ventured up the Leon arm of Belton to Winkler's Cove, Ayecock and Stampede Creek. Though there were other boats up the Leon.....I strongly discourage it. Huge logs and trees just barely visible rolling right along.




I saw lizards and a tarantula surfing to new areas of the lake. No snakes, but I didn't explore much of the junk floating down....and there was a bunch!!!!

I went to a couple old favorite spots and dumped some new brush. In doing so I found the temporary home to 5,658,347 fire ants. I have stings where I've never had stings before. Good thing was I didn't even have to get out of the boat to cut fresh brush.





Don't know how long the ramps will be opened up that way...water is still going up and nothing coming out.




Remember the last BIG flood!!!



Only opened ramp was at Franks!!!!



That was a mess after the water went down. I'm sure it will be again for many lakes!!!!

Parks had to have new restrooms build, shelters, etc.











But there are always the befores......to remind you!!!!

Don't even want to know what you were doing with them fire ants to get stung down there.

They're in the brush!!!!!!! Geeeezzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!! ........and I meant my armpits!!!!!!

U do make an important point to remember.....be very careful on all our lakes....there's going to be stuff floating we've never seen in the water before.....
