Lewisville Update 5-01-2015 - 05/01/15 05:02 PM

Went to the slips at Pier121 this morning and fished from 8-11 AM. Not one bite on jigs! Should have stayed home, but it was a very nice morning!

Water is badly stained still, and lots of trash!

Water level is up to the edge of the parking lot. The main walking ramp has plywood panels to extend it over the couple inches of water at the edge. Really welcome change!

Also, heard that Pier121 management will be changing access cards in a couple weeks (May).

About the same at Eagle Marina. Can still catch some but all are little.

Anyone have any luck today? I tried hickory creek area and 35 not a bite. I did mark one school of fish up in hickory creek, but couldn't get a bite. I changed to catfish half way through the trip and caught 10, but only one keeper.

I went Friday afternoon and no crappie. I've just about decided to give up the shallow water fishing this year and call it a huge bust. I decided to go sink some new brush piles instead of trying to find spawning crappie on a flooded lake.

I fished for a few hours today from a dock in the lakeview marina. Finally got my throw net on some big shad but didn't catch anymore after that. Water is covering parts of the roads in the marina. Any more rain and they will start closing roads there and extending walkways. Absolutely everything is hard to catch right now, even perch. I trolled some rattle traps thru the big cut the other day and managed a few sandies. Small blues and channel cats are around shallow grassy areas. Crappie are still a no show in the marina. Fishing is going to be pitiful for a while, especially with more rain coming this week. The only thing you can do is wet a line and enjoy your time.

I am going to try it again around noon today. http://www.fishingreminder.com/ indicated the major event starts at about 1 PM, and the day has a 3 out of 4 star rating. So, hope it helps.

Well, should have stayed home again. Only caught one 6 inch crappie!

Fished the slips this morning from 7-10:30. Caught one nice crappie (14 inches), and one 21 inch LMB. I was the only person fishing. Slow, slow bite! The crappie hit it hard, and fought like a LMB! Was an exciting 30 seconds!

I've had very similar luck at Eagle Point Marina. Stained water, lots of trash and slow bite.
