Grapevine Update

Good news - most of the boat ramps are open on GV, including Katies Woods. Yesterday's fishing was very slow. Some small sand bass, and a couple drum, but no crappie! Water was still badly stained.

I caught one keeper and about two dozen dinks so small, they don't deserve to be called dinks, more like tinks, tiny dinks. All fish were caught around dock brush, about ten foot down. Color didn't matter.

is the first meadowmere ramp open yet? I know it's not the greatest, but closest one from my house? Wednesday it wasn't.

I went into Denton, Marshall, and the creek down from marshall, not one bite, I don't think the crappie are going to run these creeks this year after all the influx of water, we caught quite a few out of Denton before the big rise.

I was hoping there would be a little improvement this weekend. Guess not.

I was planning on going out tomorrow to see if I can catch any, but doesn't sound like it's worth the time. I fished lewisville today and it was terrible for me

For boat fishing Grapevine sucks period! Better off from the bank or boat slips if you have access to them.

Boat fishing will pick up soon. Should be a good year with some water in the lake now.

Had to stop by the marina and mess with the charger on the boat. Decided to drop a jig for 5 minutes. This is the definition of a dink!

I didn't go today, but for the last three days, that's almost I caught. Makes me wonder if the bigger fish are spawning.

my ultralight pole barely twitched. Perfect jug placement in the lip though. Probably because the jig was to big for it to swallow........

I went to the Kenny slip yesterday and got skunked..... I got lost for a second since they reconnected the slip to the main entrance instead of the temporary bridge. There were absolutely no bite, not even the minnow Kenny mentioned earlier...... I even tried shallow by the bank but nothing....

One dink, and three tinks today. All about ten foot down.

OK - tried it at Lewisville instead today from 1-3 PM. Caught one six inch crappie! Water was much clearer, and I did see lots of shad.

What's a tink?

A tink is to small to even qualify as a dink. Tiny+Dink=Tink.

Fished the boathouse Friday with mom and daughter. In couple hours only one 10.5" keeper. Like everyone said, a bunch of Tinks! Had one of those 3" Crappie, smallest Crappie I've caught in my life! The water had cleared up nice in a week. I think bite will be improving.

hit the slips in Twin Cove...went deep and shallow.big fat 0.!!!!! might just stay home for a month.
