Proctor 1/11/14

Went to Proctor this morning and this is what I got into. Stopped fishing at 10am and ended with 20 keepers.

How did you find them, and then how did you get them to bite?

I went out all day today and never got as mush as a sniff.

Like the pic...sounds like good catching day to me!

It was a nice morning bite wise, started out using a chart jig head with a crème shad in black/red with chart tail and then switched to bobby garland blue ice around 8:30 and then lost count of how many where in the bucket.

Awesome catch! How deep? What ramp is still good with the lake low?

8-12fow and I use the Sowell Creek day use ramp.

The deepest water on Proctor right now is 18 feet. In the evenings we have been doing alright in 6-7 foot of water.

Now that's just a nice big ole mess!! Awesome!

I sure wish we could get some rain, I like fishing the spillway this time of year. The crappie seam to hit the bait a lot harder that any other places I fish.

Some of those fish LOOK like they have EGGS in them!!??? Hmmm... Oh well,

Yes they did have eggs sacks in them, have caught several at Proctor and Leon with egg sacks already. Looks like we may have a early spawn this year. And yes Stucky Proctor is over 7 feet low right now.

Could it be the Winter Spawn?

Jesse one spot is at La Mancha lake ranch on Lake Leon. that is a $5 charge to fish from the dock. If you have Bobby Garland Monkey Milk, Blue Ice and Black/chart jigs will get you started and use 1/32 oz jig heads. And I sent you a PM for acouple secret spot right now that are hot.

You are right there KGK. Those will be swimming in some grease real soon.

there are several docks to fish from on Proctor, two in sowell creek park, 2 in copperas cove and then the dam, all producing fish to my understanding. Was told leon was a off and on!
