Joe Pool Pre-Front “sac au lait”

Joe Pool Pre-Front “sac au lait” - 04/17/21 04:24 PM

Took a couple of my nephews to JP to teach.......Fished Wed (4/14)............10a to 2p probably a bad day for teaching crappie hook setting....but a good day for teaching work and perseverance.

Very windy 15-20+ from NE......difficult to hold in wind (Terrova at 10 trying to hold spot lock). Fishing brush pile in 17 FOW. We would have left had fish not cooperated. Wind died to a manageable 10-15. @ noon letting us get a keeper limit.

I’ve never fished Joe Pool and have no desire to leave E Tx to do so but that’s probably the best table of fish I’ve ever seen come off that lake!! thumb

Joe Pool is fun but only catch small dinks. We sometimes have a largemouth attack the 9” crappie and whoa! Hang on! Best we ever did is 8 keeper fish last year. East Texas has better quality but Joe Pool has a lot of fish. It would be fun for new fishermen. The action is fast on Joe Pool in May and June.

I was out there today. My first time on this lake. Fished from 10 to about 3, caught 25 fish along with a couple of ditch pickles. All were released- all were under except 3 that barely made 10”.

Nothing to see here, everyone move on please. There are no fish in JP, and the few fish that are here are all under 10”. Please move in an orderly fashion to the next thread.
