Seeing is Believing (Livescope)

Seeing is Believing (Livescope) - 03/10/19 02:00 PM

I know there is a lot of hype going on right now about the new garmin livescope. Well, After finally getting to get out on the lake, I can say it is a piece of equipment that takes fishing to a whole new level. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be "AMAZING." Its also a great learning tool because you learn more about behavior of fish. I was actually able to see one fish chase the jig down on one pile and then another pile was loaded and the fish just stared at it until finally one decided to bite after several minutes. I told my fishing buddy last night that this thing will either put a guide out of business or help him tremendously number wise. Now. that's my review of the product and I still have a lot to learn about it and I am sure I will over time like recording using the active captain etc....

Great job Garmin.

They aren’t gonna put a guide out of business. That’s what people said about side scan and people being able to find all the guides private brush piles. Well, they are still in business. The reality of it is most people can’t afford that unit.

That's great news Jack but I think you'll have to take me fishing bc I'll need to see it to believe it!
I got a garmin 93sv and seriously considering livescope myself.

I’m sure they are nice,, and I’m not against it , but I’ll stick to my old school ways and catch them that way, I can think of 15 different ways to spend $ 1,500.00. 2cents

Yes sir it’s amazing I can see everything even those little condos looks like they are sitting in my yard clear as day light. I couldn’t see those things well before. You still have to get them to bite and I can see it really being an advantage
when structure turns on during post spawn and so on. Game changer. !!

I love mine.
I had several fish shoot up out of the brush to whack my jig while it was 4 or 5 feet above still sinking but couldn't catch it on video.

I did get a video of this one

I took my GLS out yesterday, finally! I was at Lake Arlington. I have a HB Helix 7 with the transducer mounted to the MK Ultrex. Sitting right next to it I have the Garmin 93sv with its transducer mounted to a Bowducer. I am spot locked over one of my deep water brush piles. Check the link below.

Yes indeed! Notice the GLS10 in the bottom left corner. It is the LiveScope, forward facing, in the blue palette. If you ise this palate it will show red returns in the center of the fish. It looks old school and not as nice as some of the other palettes, but you will be able to to see the fish better when they are holding tight to the structure. Otherwise everything is the same color. Preference...

It's the second time I've seen this, and it still amazes me that the knocking on the branch just made that Crappie lunge to your lure. Awesome footage! Tim

It is more frustrating seeing the fish behavior on your lure. Sometimes I think if I were to old school it, and not see a thing, I'd be less frustrated.... But it's a first world problem. BTW $1500 is just the transducer. The head unit will set you BAT (Back Another Thousand).

Finding fish in long timber lines can be a daunting task, I would love to see some videos of fish swimming around in timber lines..
Jack you got it going on brother, Blessings!!

Which model unit do you have.

I have a Humminbird 360 and also a Garmin 93sv with livescope on my Hobie PA 14 kayak. I think I could still get skunked, I'd just have to work harder at it now.
Originally I expected to let go of the 360, but they each have some strong points worth saving. I mostly crappie fish but have a place on Texoma and chase stripers in open water when I stay there

Paying for it is painful but not as painful as trying to get one in your hands right now. All the distributors are back ordered.
