Summer time patterns

Well the water as warmed up to 85 to high 80s, on all the lakes I’m on. Which can call for a tough bite sometimes. I’ve been trying a lot of different things. First I’ve dropped from a 1/4 ounce jig head to an 1/8 head. We have been fishing slower moving a lot more. I strongly suggest some type of scent this time of year. We have been pinching minnows apart and put it on a Jigs to. One thing to keep in mind is to use a small profile bait this time of year. We’ve been using BoneHead Tackle stump bugs and sometimes cut a quarter inch off of that stump bug to make it it littler. We’ve been getting a lot of bites pulling it up slow, or pulling up slow about 2 foot and dropping it fast and let it sit still a few seconds and they will hit it. Or bouncing the jig off every Limb in the pile you can find. Summertime can be tricky sometimes so keep on the move and cover a lot of water.

Trip # 1 was Neil and his Friend Bill they wanted to try something different so we fished lake Fork. We fished timber and a few brush piles with jigs and a piece of minnow. Ended the day with 33 nice crappie.

Trip#2 was Eddie and his friend Frank. This was an instructional trip on Lake Tawakoni and they wanted to learn how to find and catch their own Crappie. So we went to school on the summertime pattern for Crappie. They didn’t want to keep no fish so I kept 15 for the freezer.

Trip#3 Jeff and his brother Rick. These guys are from West Texas and was on vacation on Lake Tawakoni. These guys were fun to fish with, they couldn’t believe the size of these East Texas Crappie. A lot of laughs and 50 Crappie ended the trip.

Trip#4 was Jerry and his son-in-law John on Lake Palestine. These guys sure do give each other a hard time. With a lot of jokes and laughing. Ended the day with 24 Crappie.

Trip# 5 was John and his son Jake. These two were in the area and wanted to Crappie fish Palestine. Jake put most of the fish in the boat. We stayed on and move and ended the day with 25 Crappie.

Trip # 6 Was Ben and his dad Walter on Lake Tawakoni. Ben wanted to get his dad on some Crappie since it’s been a while since they been. It was a tuff bite but we managed a nice mess of fish and a lot of memories.

Trip # 7 was Nick , Bruce, Brian, and Mike on Lake Tawakoni Sunday. All I can say these guys put a beat down on 100 Crappie!!! The guys kept me busy all day Slinging Crappie in the boat but that’s the way I like it!! Blessed day on the water. If you’re not fishing Tawakoni in the summer time you’re missing out.

Thanks everyone for fishing with me. We’ve had some blessed tripsfor sure.

If your looking for a summertime crappie, please give me a call.

Remember, we guarantee fish or no pay!
