Inexpensive Must Have on Boat

Inexpensive Must Have on Boat - 06/19/18 01:24 AM

So what are some inexpensive must haves on the boat. Mine are these "jig savers. Since I have made a few with the barrel swivel and purchased the Water Gremlin snap on sinkers my recovery rate is about 90%. If you use braid and a barrel swivel with fluorocarbon the larger snaps will slide over the barrel swivel. I feel that it doesn't disturb the brush pile nearly as much as pulling on a jig trying to pull the hook or breaking it completely off. I use both 1/2 and 3/4 oz. There have been times when I have had to drop two weights in order to save a jig. Yes there are times when no matter what you do the jig just doesn't come lose and you have to break the whole rig.

Re: Inexpensive Must Have on Boat - 06/23/18 01:18 AM

YES, push it in as far as you can and cut it off, on both ends.
Thats not the finished product,
I added the longer PVC for the umbrella post.
also short piece of PVC above the joint under the seat. I had to put O-rings around the
seat post to take up some of the slop,..
also on the bottom of the long PVC I used a square stick on furniture mover so not
to wear the carpet...I use the JB Weld marine for joints..used them both this afternoon.. hooked
