DFW Report from Ft. Worth Fishing

I returned home from Italy on Monday then guided Tuesday through Friday. This is what I found:


Water Temp: 82-86
Best Depth: 12-18ft
Best Jig: White Hot Thump Chubbies from Constant Pursuit Outfitters
Best Rod: 7ft G Rods
Best Line: 8lb Wally Marshall Hi-Visability mono
Best Reel: Pflueger President
Best Technique: pitching jig out or SLOWLY lifting it off bottom
Best Advice: I'm starting to find piles that are loaded but the fish are inactive. Don't waste time on piles like that.


As of Friday, a group of fishermen can still pull 100 by lunch. Stay hydrated and aggressive and you should have no problem putting fish in the freezer. If you would like to join me, I've got three half days open in July. www.ftworthfishing.com

Great report Lane! I have been noticing the loads of inactive fish since it got hot. Going to try minnows this week and see if that gets them going. Fished a pile recently with at least 100-150 fish on it and only caught a couple. I would occasionally bump into the rest of the fish when jigging as they just simply weren't active.
