Been trying to get a chance to take my dad but haven't yet.

My wife and I finally bought another boat so I can get him out there.

Great Job! I bring my Dad fishing every weekend that he wants to go. He is 82 years young, and loves to feel that thump as much as anyone I know. He loves to record every trip in a log so he can tell his buddies how many we caught that weekend and for the year. Cherish those moments, since we don't know what tomorrow will bring.

AWESOME DAY WITH DAD! Yep, dad and I have to spend time together watching old westerns together, talking about kids, health, plants, and coins. Only occasionally does fishing come up, and when it does, I am reminded of all the fishing trips in Alaska that I need to make...

taking Dad would be great. My grandpa taught me Crappie fishing, but Dad was all about catfishing when I was a kid.
We'd go on Fri or Sat night at some local catfish ponds around St Louis and fish ALL night...lanterens, snacks and sandwichs, koolaid in a big jug, listening to the radio, and those little bells that you clipped on the end of your rod so you could hear the bite...
