Debbie and I fished Fork this morning from 9am til about 330pm.
I'm trying to learn jig fishing, slowly. But we use minnows mostly.
When we started the lake was flat...no wind !! Ran a few of our favorite
brush piles and caught about 30, with a couple grande ones..
The bite was steady, we'd catch 4-5, (all catch and release) and go to another spot.
The wind was very light from the north until about 1pm, the shift was very evident.
One minute lite from north, athen whoosh....outta the southish. Started at about 3-5,
the 5-10, ,,,the here come the white caps, loading the boat was a chore...it was weird. when the wind shifted you could tell the fish quit biting...
We went by the damn about 930-10 to fish, something looked wrong,...about ten/12 of the big orange warning buoys had broken loose from their anchoring, they were still connected but had broken away from their circle that protects entry into the area around the damn...I called the Game Warden, he called SRA, and about 2 hours later they had it all back together..
I'm betting the winds and storms probably broke them loose...
becareful out there
