Saturday was James, his son and father Dave. These guys are members of Crappie Anglers of Texas. And thee generations of Crappie fisherman. So they are no strangers to crappie fishing.

As a guide my job is to put fish in the boat, and numbers of them. But today we didn't get the numbers I was hoping for. After locating some fish two days before, the fish were gone. (that's springtime for you) Anybody that fishes Lake Fork a lot knows that this can be a very humbling lake.

This was some great guys to share the boat with. As a guide sometimes I get stuck on getting numbers for clients. Sometimes that's not what it's all about. My clients have reminded me of that. Just being on the water and enjoying the outdoors with family and loved ones. When you get down to it, its what it's really all about.

All you can do is give it all you got and give the rest to the good Lord.

These guys caught a dozen or so nice quality fish. With 2 fish bumping 2 pounds.

Thanks again guys and hope you enjoyed your fish tacos.

Water temp was 58-62 degrees. Fish caught in six foot or less. Caught on BoneHead Tackle stump bugs paradise color.

What fish we are catching a lot of them are pound and half up.

If you are interested in getting on some springtime crappie, please give me a call. Our calendar is filling up fast.

I'm amazed at all the times you do produce limits of fish for your clients.

Crappie fishing can be a humbling experience for us all. I get a kick out of the boats that hit the water and they expect it to be like catching spawning bream on the beds. Some days it is like that, but most times you work for the ones you keep.

I never went back to places I had found them the day or 2 before as my sole game plan, because when they werent there it blew my mind.
JUST FISH MAN!! try more to establish patterns than locate spots holding fish.
also the clients are well aware that there will be slow days. just never make excuses because one day you will pull up to the dock after catching very little, and there will be a guy taking pics of a limit. just do your best and thank God for the life! thumb

I for one appreciate your honesty. I fish with a lot of guides, even been out with you.
The first thing I always tell the guide is that we are all here to have a safe fun trip.
Catching is extra. I've caught 80 bass one day, and zeroed on another. That's fishing,

"Crappie fishing can be a humbling experience for us all",....but it should always be fun.
