Wow, I know I will drive a country mile also, but I don't think I've driven that far. Not yet anyways.

Re: How far - 12/13/17 04:07 PM

I've driven two hours and caught only 2 before so I'd say 4 if I knew for sure I'd catch a limit.

I am so spoiled,
there are some days , if I chose to , I could catch a limit without
cranking the big motor. I am not blessed with crappie under the dock.
Catching a limit without leaving the dock would be cool

Lake Houston - 20 mins away
Lake Conroe - 40 mins away
Lake Livingston - 1.5 hours away
Lake Somerville - 1.5 hours away
I've never fished Livingston & have only feeshed Conroe & Somerville a handful of times.... I don't like driving by crappie to go tryn catch crappie.... banana

I drove 120 miles this spring when they were on the banks. From Broken Arrow, OK to as far south as you can go on Lake Eufaula. I'd say it was worth it but I wouldn't want to do it often pulling the boat LOL. I'd go broke pretty quick

5 minutes from the lake, and a 2 minutes to the first brush pile.

Re: How far - 12/17/17 08:04 PM

Average travel time to the lakes I fish are 45-70 minutes. I will go up to 3 hours if the limit is a sure thing.

Me too and the cove has had water the past two springs

Boat slip is 10 minutes...

But, to answer, 100 mile round trip would be about it

Four miles to the lake and a quarter mile to the bridge long trip but I do travel 900 miles north each year to fish for crappies and blue gills.
