There is a tiny little restaurant in the tiny little town of Crosbyton that has the best tacos I have ever eaten. Theresa's Cocina. If you ever get out towards Lubbock, you gotta try it.

Tons of places in San Antonio, it's what I concider the home of the breakfast taco because no where else are they even close, especially with the salsa. Fajita tacos you can get anywhere really, but you'll have to search for good carne guisada tacos. Grumpy's in Bracken/Garden Ridge has like one pound tacos but lack in the salsa department, but deffinately worth stopping at that place for breakfast

Torchy's is good, but I'd say not great and very over rated (same for Taco Deli). I not sure many agree though, because I bet they had 100 people eating there today enjoying the weather when I went about around lunch.

Some of my favorites are Tupinamba's Tuppy tacos and Herrera's in Dallas and Rosie's in Lockhardt (carne guisada breakfast tacos). Almost any Tex Mex restaurant in San Antonio.

Star Seeds in Austin (open 24 hours) at 2:00 am they serve a mean breakfast taco. On I-35 opposite side as DKR, 1/2 mile or so north down the service road. Please keep it our secret.

My Mom and Nana entered into a taco competition many years ago and guess what, they got FIRST PLACE of the whole DFW area that entered! i mean down home fried tacos! they r SO GOOD! Which reminds me, i need to have her make those again...

Mariachi's de jalisco's combo burrito. It cures hang overs, then gives you a new one. It's not the best tasting one I have ever had, but for me there is something better than taste: being full for 3 bucks!

there is a place in Burleson called La Tapatios or something like that its beside wal mart behind AA China Buffet. Best Tacos around its homestyle Mexican and have all kinda meats great food. should try it out.

I'm going to have to try it out and get back to ya, I see it all the time, I live off Hidden Creek.. The best I've found is in Ft.Worth. "Ernestos" on Hemphill and Bolt..about a mile north of 820. AWESOME.

Fuzzys is the best (I go to TCU). Also Red Cactus across the street from Fuzzys has good mexican food, but I don't think you can be Fuzzys green sauce. Oh my lord their green sauce enchiladas are the best in texas!

Almost any taqueria or mom and pop mexican restaurant in San Antonio has good tacos and most use home made tortillas. for the beefy kind, i like the 4 little tacos of asada on those little corn tortillas with cilantro, guacamole, and a squeeze of lime. You know the ones they sell in those little portable kitchens in parking lots.

Well, according to my stomach's memory, you are wrong, sir! The Taco Casa in Durant, OK where I went to college served up some of the best tacos I've ever had. Of course that may just be fond rememberances talking since they were so cheap that I mostly survived on them alone...

And another vote for Fuzzy's by TCU - the other locations just lack that real dive feel that I love about the Berry St. location. Cheap, 18oz. schooners of ice cold XX Dos Equis and killer tacos - what more could you want? (the borracho beans and latin fries are also outstanding)

Their more upscale sister restaurant, Yucatan Taco Stand is very good, as well

Shoot best tacos! Get your a** to the rio grande valley and pick any mexican restaurant hacienda los morales, el pato, la playa, any taqueria, ana's its very difficult to choose they're all delicious but for some reason people from out of the valley seem to love and die for el pato hmm. I've seen post from people that want an el pato up in houston dallas san antonio etc. Go figure? Ill even admit whataburger's breakfeast taquitos aren't bad.

Taco Diner is tasty but a little bit more spendy, especially when you drink several mambo taxis with them (Pollo Al Pastor....mmmmmmmmmmm)

Everybody is right about tacos in San Antonio. Anywhere else you go in the state, the tacos suck. Come to San Antonio and eat at any little hole in the wall taco joint and you will not be let down. +1 on the grumpys in Bracken, those things are huge, but the salsa sucks. I would rather have Bill Millers Breakfast Tacos than most other cities tacos, but I am a taco snob.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the "red" tacos of Casa Manana here in Wichita Falls. Granted it nearly burned to the ground the other day, but the tacos are the stuff legends are made out of.

They also make fantastic fish and shrimp burritos, and you can get the tacos either regular or habanero. Score!

Of course they also have beef, chicken, pork, and even veggie, and other stuff as well, but shrimp and fish tacos and burritos are where it's at.

Plus, Schooners of ice cold Shiner for 2.50 ain't bad!

Solms Taco House in Solms right outside of New Braunfels. Not a big place but man those tacos are good. The hot sauce is HOT. They even have the local truckers order off a CB radio. Rick is the owner very nice people. We are cops so if we go there you know it's good.

First of all eliminate north Texas they still call breakfast Tacos Breakfast Burritos. I like Reparo Taquito in Corpus. There are a few other good places down there as well, but "the best" really depends how thick you like your tortillas.

Wichita Falls finally got a Fuzzy's Taco.. I liked the Baja Tempura Fish, crispy.. and the wife liked her burrito..

Taqueria Morelos in Austin. Hwy 183 south of Hwy 71 on west side of the road. Crispy taco plate is incredible. Family owned hole in the wall restaurant.

Taco Shop on 7th in Corsicana has a pretty good taco. Also, you gotta love the chili burger and XXX Root Beer.

Dairy Queen in Trinidad or Seven Points have good tacos. One of them, I think it's the Trinidad location has a house sauce that makes the tacos so much better.

But if ya'll are coming through Corsicana on one of my creative smoker days when I start smoking everything. I make a smoked taco that everyone around here likes...Or it could just be the beer talking.

Someone told me there is a Fuzzy's in Lewisville. I'm assuming (hoping) it is the same as the one everyone is refering to by TCU. Will be checking it out.....

Tejas Cafe in San Antonio makes a pretty mean chorizo and egg and it is about the size of your head!

Tio Dan's Puffy Tacos....Round Rock Texas. Best Tacos (picadillo) and Breakfast tacos. While you're there pop around the corner to ROund Rock Bakery(aka Lone Star Bakery- as featured on Man vs Food) and have a blueberry cake donut and a few of your normal favs. Texas Jalepeno Sausage Kolache is awesome.

The late, truly Great, Joe's Place on East First Street, Austin, TX.

What you used to get there were flying saucer sized hand made flour tortillas, inside the tortilla was some of the best pinto beans on the planet; on top of that, some of the finest cooked,perfectly spiced lean picadillo beef; on top of that were hand cut steak fries, cooked to perfection, and then cheese, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onion if you wanted it, and their home made salsa. They came two to an order, and few people finished both in one sitting. Massive soft flour tortilla tacos, magnificently done. Wash it down with your favorite ice cold, long neck bottled adult beverage, and wellsir, a slice of heaven on the East Side!

Unfortunately the taco stand was attached to a pool hall in the front that kept the austin police busy enough to where those in the know had it figured that Joe's Place's days were numbered. It eventually closed.

The Eternal, Legendary, I woud kill for, literally, Chicos Tacos in El Paso, TX. Like no other!

Big fuzzy's fan here but Ernesto's Tacos on McCart in Ft. Worth is also another great place. They have authentic mexican street tacos that are basically made with 2 corn tortillas, meat, cilantro and onion. Sounds kinda plain but the meat in Ernesto's Tacos is just outstanding. (the chipotle chicken is amazing) If you're in the area give em' a try - you won't be disappointed.

Ernesto's is really good.... There is a second location as well if I remember right. I think it's on Hemphill.

The best breakfast burrito I have ever eaten, by far, is at JC's
Burritos on West 19th in Lubbock. Austin, of course, is full of unique taquerias-Maria's is certainly a keeper, and the original Chuy's calls Austin home. My favorite tacos ever, though, came from Santos' taqueria in Mason-wonderful and somehow a little magical. You can get sangria on ice with a little slice of lime and a cherry, have some homemade chips and salsa, then fish the Llano the next morning. Almost paradise.

wouldn't claim they're the best in Texas, but the best grilled fish tacos I've had were at JJ's Oyster Bar in Ft. Worth. Their(very spicy)homemade pico de gallo, salsa & freshly sliced avocado make a good taco, great.

John's Backyard in North Dallas is my go to favorite. Won't claim its the best in Texas though because there are so many good taco joints.

Del Norte in Godley is very good and unique too.

Del Norte.... You'll be shocked at the quality of the food for being in Godley TX. Its definitely not your run of the mill Tex Mex joint. Nice old Texas smokehouse feel to it as well. Built out of an old automotive service shop. The auto lift is still on the floor in the dining room. Depending on when you go, might be able to taste something cajun too. Like Gumbo or Redfish. Owner Chris likes to change up the specials quite regularly.

I've made a few trips to Del Norte and it was excellent each time. And you're right you never know what surprise the owner will be cooking up on any particular day.

Taco's Ernesto on McCart Ave. in Ft. Worth - authentic Mexican street tacos and they have a cantaloupe flavored agua fresca drink that is amazingly good

The best street tacos are in border towns. Laredo in the industrial park. Look for the junkiest 1980s conversion vans with taco wrote on em. Spent slot of time in border town and u just can't beat em. Banker hours tho cause they come across in morning and go back in evening.

I tried these in the old Casa Linda area and they were really good tacos.

A tie between Noe's and Taco Tejano for breakfast tacos and they are both located in Seguin, Tx. Anywhere in Seguin is probably pretty good though.

Shell station at the corner of Wilbarger and Hillcrest in Vernon has one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever eaten. Think I'll eat a few this week while I am there.

Had a truck that came thru the Navajo refinery in Artesia, NM years ago.

I don't do taco chains. Fuzzy's is for youngsters. I've tried them all. They're just not good anymore like they were after the first opened.

Street tacos - American convience store on Camp Bowie West across from Moritz. The chicken is my favorite.

The best tacos - Bad Azz Buritto in north Fort Worth. Two locations, Western Center and Blue Mound. Everything is fresh and good every day. They have pork chunks in green sauce to die for. A fat breakfast taco is less than two bucks. The pico is great, made with Serrano chilis. Great staff and if you're hungry they will make you a seven pound burrito.

In the RGV, Pato's is my first stop then I fan out. In El Paso, the mom and pop on Montana, then Pancho's. Yep it was legendary back then, have to give it a chance.

Born and raised in TX and never had a decent taco out.
The best tacos are from my own Tex-Mex kitchen. The restroom is clean, the cook's hands are clean, freshly home-deep-fried corn tortilla shells most times, freshly washed produce, and I know what animal the meat came from. Sorry not to be of any help on this one. Getting more and more that way. The more I cook, the more I can do it as good or better than the restaurants. The more I eat out, the more dissatisfied I become of the bad food, the filthy places and people who use ungloved hands, and the uncaring service. BTW, Kroger makes a boss flour tortilla in their deli just as good as Mercado Juarez or anyplace else that makes their own.

Do you have a drive thru? What are your hours ? Food prep is #1 on my list too but street tacos and styrofoam make the world go round. When word gets out that you are serving all of us, you are going to be very busy. Cheers, Bone App Pa Tweet, JP

TacaTaco in San Antonio has great breakfast tacos. Garcia's Mexican Restaurant in San Antonio does the best brisket taco in our area. Cristian's Tacos does a great carne guisada in San Antonio.

Don't listen to those folks in the Dallas-area about where to get good tacos! If you want to find the goods places you'll need to head South.

Hwy 78 toward Lavon from Sachse "Speedy's Tacos are very good not the Tex Mex but very good affordable tacos, behind Metor Burger, Speedys is just a good hole in the wall place for tacos! One day I asked for a sample and the sample was a entire taco as with most of the food there.

Caution the sauce that says hot is HOT!
