Searching for a Vacation Cabin with a fishing pond - 11/11/17 06:24 PM

Looking for a vacation cabin (for two) to rent for a few days that has a fishing pond with it.

Would prefer to find something in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana.

Went to Eagle Creek Escape in Smithville, Oklahoma a couple of years ago. It was very nice.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

A Frame cabin has its own dock and hot tub and is right on the water. Some monster hybrid bluegills in there and some really good catch and release bass fishing too.

Near Johnson city, Texas. Has short walk and access to 2 nice ponds. Right next to sculpture ranch and close to Fredericksburg wine country.

Stayed in one of these #3 I believe, a while back just east of Broken Bow. Not only is it on the Mountain Fork River, There's several big ponds to fish, reckon they probably only get fished a handfull of times a year. They were loaded with bass when we went.

https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/palmetto Palmetto state park in central Texas has an amazing cabin at a super low rate. Stayed there for 5 days last year. A fishing pond that is stocked by tpwd. They also rent canoes and pattle boats. It's also next to the San Marcos and Brazos river so you can float the river if you want. (During warmer weather). It's a small state park but three is lots to do in the area. Good luck.

Check the website out and it looks good. When I proceeded to reserve a 4 night stay discovered a couple of extra charges.

They want a 9% Resort Fee & 13% Occupancy Tax.

Seems like a bit much to me.
