This is a case where I would have been cheering on the whoopin if they decided to hand one out.

I had two students yesterday tell me they wanted to join the military, one is 15, the other 16. Surprising, and good for them.

A 3rd kid, 16, said he wanted to be a policeman. Bless his heart, what a hard job. It is very rare to find kids that want to be on the police force, much less even like or respect them.

I'd bet that blue-hair doesn't have any military or police officers in his family. To feel that much hatred and resentment that you would act like that. Good grief, he might be a Berkeley graduate.

Unfortunately that's what will get officer killed. The past 8 years has made the job very hard. Between everybody having a camera, the media immediately finding the officer guilty regardless of the truth, and the citizens that will show up at an officers home and cause damage and threaten the officers family, it gotten to the point we are our own biggest danger.

I believe the camera thing will only increase. Cameras are still steadily getting smaller and cheaper and use less power and the same is true of data storage. Police will just have to operate under the assumption that everything is being recorded from here on. Best they can do is record everything themselves so they also have the whole story from their side.

I don't see the media changing any time soon.

I have a good buddy that's a Dallas officer that is a former professional fighter. Glad this wasn't him. The thought of him having to show restraint to this puke is everything that's wrong with the world today. Cat deserved to catch a beating.
