Favorite Soup Poll- World Series of Soups! - 03/18/24 04:13 PM

I been really digging soups a lot lately. Got a little book from half priced books with lots of olden times soups recipes. I have playing around trying to make some of them. Some have been bomb! Some were fails. But its been fun.

What are your favorites? You can vote for up to three times (like a democrat!) so no need to pick just one!

What soup's were maybe left off the list? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

I grew up on Campbell vegetable beef, I really don’t eat much soup these days. I would probably go with clam chowda New England style

Oh yeah... Both great!

Even the little broth they give you at Viet places is bomb. Not even sure what it is. Its just a slightly tinted broth with some chives. Its flavorful but very light.

Seems the OP was loosely mixing soups and stews. I voted gumbeaux because, well, it's a stew but I love a good gumbeaux.

If stews are un I'd like to add a coonass courtbouillon.

That’s been forty years.

Re: Favorite Soup Poll- World Series of Soups! - 03/18/24 09:17 PM

So many good ones.

I don’t really have a favorite…..maybe chicken matzo ball soup tied with chicken tortilla in a dead heat with gumbo and Tom Yum (Agee gumbo is cheating…as you can add so much sausage and seafood it becomes a stew…and you can cheat with Tom Yum adding so much seafood and potatoes that it becomes a curry)

I would like to give some love to Butternut squash…..properly seasoned of course.

A properly prepared Menudo. Beef tripe. White hominy corn.

And it has to have some diced green onion and lemon when served. Or lime or both.
