No, the Jags defense will dominate the Cowboys offense.

Everything points to a cowboys loss, but I'm still hoping for a win. Hopefully Tank and Irving turn Bortles into bad Blake Bortles and the offense can finally open up the field. Go cowboys.

I don’t know about righting the ship but the Pokes post a win over the Jags today, 28-16

Pokes score 4 TDs in the 1st quarter and don’t make a first down the rest of the game

I've continued to be positive, but my waning patience has reached its end. Cowboys get steam rolled today. Who cares about the score. They lose with dignity........and red clapper is status quo with job security. I'm going sour grapes, my OT brethren......

Mahr's a pretty good kicker.

Somehow I haven’t heard one person give Jerry the GM any credit for dropping Bailey and keeping Mahr.

So far the play calling has been pretty good. Playing to Daks strengths and accuracy has been better. WR’s have made some plays as well. Let’s see if we can sustain or do like always and get away from what’s working and start playing not to lose.

Dak, at least, is stepping up in the pocket and buying more time. Just a couple of throws on his heels. Looking like a NFL QB. They're finally throwing the ball downfield instead of sideways every play. I can smell it right now.......SOOOOOOOOOOOOOPAH!

Lol there’s TX! If Dak got the blocking he’s getting today and the play calling they are putting out so far I’m guessing daks production would be way better. It’s not the difference in 1 player the entire offense is playing at a higher level so far today.

This game is a prime example of why the cowboys will be 8-8 forever. Big win saves a sorry [censored] head coach. Another loss, and the boys cut theirs by scrapping the coaching staff and start over.

You mean the guy who inherted a two time championship team? Then acted like he built that team.

Stoops would bring plenty of regular season wins, and plenty of big game loses.

Jokes aside about Stoops. I think he would probably make a good NFL head coach. He had plenty of success in college football. That doesn't always mean success in the NFL. But never know until we see what he can do.

What is a crazy playoff run. I would say 60/40 barely miss the playoffs and he's back, 80/20 make the playoffs and would bet my first born he's safe with a playoff win.

Not that I agree with it but I am going to have to go along with what Jimmy Johnson said, Garrett is not going anywhere, the Jones family likes him a lot, they have a defense, a running game, they will go get them a receiver and should be a very good team, something along those lines.

Re: Cows vs. Jags ...... do the Cows right the ship? - 10/15/18 11:49 PM

The problem with Barruh was his long-standing unstable relationship with Troy
Barruh and his DL coach (John Blake) said some innacurate comments about Aikman to the media (notably Skip Bayless who ran with the comments and printed them in a book)

Troy was the leader and had the support of the other key leaders on the team, particularly Irvin (exemplified by the day Troy stood with Irvin in court)

Jimmy Johnson hardly ever left Cowboys headquarters; tirelessly planning/scheming their next opponent

I’ll be kind and say that Barruh didn’t have Jimmy’s work ethic or discipline; further weakening his role as an authoritative figure to the players
Posted By: fish4bass

Re: Cows vs. Jags ...... do the Cows right the ship? - 10/16/18 12:00 AM

Jimmy quit. Burned out and got in a power struggle with the man writing the paychecks. Watch his football life. Switzer is in rare company in football. Love his personality as well as Jimmy. Troy has said the game he is most proud of is the NFC Championship against the 49r's they lost after a horrible start. But yep... lots of history with Jerruh, Jimmy, Berruh going back to their National Championship at Arkansas. Then Jerruh snatched Primetime. SB.

This team has better talent that their record exhibits. If (giant IF), they had that franchise QB they'd have a chance to be rilly, rilly good with new innovative coaching. That's the missing components.

Let me add they need the #1 receiver but that can be developed thru the draft or with free agency.

Bee'z , F4B is just trying to troll me. He thinks some Ohio comments will get under my skin.
What he fails to realize. I do very little in my life for myself. My being in Ohio, originally and now, is not because I want to be here. I'm where I am now because the high ratings Cincinnati Children's has for the care Rue needs. Which is the reason why I stayed. If I die here. I died knowing I did what I had to do for a little girl that had no one else to do it for her.
I believe God put me in her life for a reason. Because of that I will continue to do what I do, and stay where I am if need be.
And for that reason F4B's trolls on me are nothing more than a waste of his time.

The problem with the Cowgirls for some time now is that one has no idea what ship is going to show up. One week it will be a destroyer, and seven days later a kayak splashes the water. Some call this bad preparation, or God forbid, bad coaching.

The better ship (just can’t use the word “destroyer” to describe a team that lost to the Texans) might show up again. It can happen 2 weeks in a row. But that kayak WILL be back. It’s what JG do. Clap clap clap clap

I think they knew that but did not want to put him in harms way, they have no choice until he learns to read defenses and throws the ball better, well maybe a big time receiver or tight end would help a bunch.

the red robot will wipe his memory of what they did this week and he will reboot to original settings. He wont run the ball when he should, wont let Dak run and wont call any long passes. Lots of corner fades.

I still think Garrett is gone. Last time I saw that look and heard that tone from Jerry towards a Cowboys HC was when Wade was here and he was not here long after that. I do think he waits till the end of the year to can him unless they really, really tank this season.

Jason isn't going anywhere. He is wrapped around all of the Jones' family's finger, just where they want him to be. He is a yes man, a pure prototypical "What can I do for you next" type of guy. He goes over to Charlottes sometimes for dinner without Jerruh even being there? She considers him as another son and all of the Jones' family loves him and his family. Jones are a tight knit family and they take care of their own. Business is business, sure, but family runs much deeper. Jerruh will need to either sell or die before they lead red clapper to the door. Hope not, though.....

I tend to agree with Mark on this one. Business is business and there is getting to be quite a bit of unrest and apathy in the Cowboy Nation. These bad vibes could translate into some devaluation of the Cowboy product and name and Booger will guard against that.

I honestly think Booger wants another SB before he goes to that Wildcatter Great Beyond and sees that Ginger doesn't have the ability to produce that.

Re: Cows vs. Jags ...... do the Cows right the ship? - 10/17/18 04:33 PM

Here’s my point about the Cows right now. They have to get a new coach, the right coach that can lead the team to a super bowl. It ain’t JG. They need an elite QB. Dak ain’t it. Great guy. I root for him as a player to be successful, but he ain’t it. And they basically need 2-3 new receivers or major upgrades to their receiving core. Maybe a safety. They need a lot of pieces. A lot. That doesn’t happen overnight. It may take years. Could they make the playoffs, yes. Absolutely. The NFC East is terrible. Will they win a super bowl. ?? Not anytime soon.

blahblahblahblahblahblah………...oh, hi Frank! You're right. I agree with most of that w/ exception of receivers core. There's not much difference in most WR's in the league. Yes, some run routes more accurate, and are a little faster, or are taller and can physically take the ball away from their defender and can block them out, etc, etc. They are all very good because they're professionals. Our receivers are fine. The elite QB can make or break an elite receiver. That's the biggest help we need is we need a Mahomes or Mayfield or a young Rogers. In today's league, QBs must be a triple threat to be successful. Dak cannot put the ball in tight spaces with a high enough percentage. What is really scary is if Dak goes down with injury. Then, where are we? Red clapper will figure out the process one way or another because he ain't going anywhere.

You smellin' it yet?

I am not a coach but I think if they can get an OC that realizes Dak is a poor man's version of Cam Newton then they will be a little better. Dak lacks some of the arm that Cam has but in a lot of ways their games are very similar.

Agree. He is like Tebow, but not as good as a runner.

I am encouraged by the Tight End play last week against a good defense.

With Dak's lack of accuracy past 20 yards, he needs a solid TE, a good slot receiver, a good running game, and O line.
When healthy, the Cowboys have a good O line, a good slot receiver, and one of the best running games.
Downfield/elite receivers would never be maximized with Dak's lack of accuracy past 20 yards.

With his skill set, the Cowboys could definitely reach the Super Bowl with good coaching.

Dak is a better QB than the following SuperBowl QBs:

Vince Ferragamo
Billy Kilmer
Trent Dilfer
Rex Grossman
David Woodley
