Gun carry from Texas to Colorado - 06/13/18 01:14 AM

My son is planning a trip to Colorado but we are unclear on carry the laws in both New Mexico and Colorado. From what I have read, open carry is allowed in Both states. Any suggestions on particulars he needs to know?

How do you cross state lines legally. Does it have to be placed in the trunk?

If he has a LTC permit from Texas, no worries.
I would keep it concealed however, and let any officer that stops them know immediately that he has one, and where it is.

There are no border checks going into New Mexico or Colorado. You just drive past the welcome sign without stopping. It's no big deal. Guns are still legal there.

Colorado has that idiotic 10 round mag capacity law.

Sure would suck to go to jail for having the wrong mag.

You should have no issues taking it but it is a whole different story bringing it back with a few pounds of Mary Jane stuffed in the same duffel bag.

Good luck.

I have 30 round mags all over my house. Stores even sell them, but they just sell them un-assembled as "kits".
