Need a rod room attendant - Beaumont area - 06/12/18 02:45 PM
Anybody out there have experience as a rod room attendant? I'm in dire need of one.
Not complicated at all, read rod slips, hand out rods and wire, track rod caddies. Log out log in. Fast work early morning and late afternoon, slow work the rest of the day. Carbon and Stainless, no Chrome. Taking care of about 30 welders.
Can't discuss pay but it's right at 6 figures including per diem.
Perfect job for a pipe fitter helper looking to make a little more money.
On that note, any CWIs out there looking for work?
Qualified construction manpower situation on the Gulf Coast is horrible right now, too much work.

As a former QA Manager in Petrochemical, Power, and Nuclear, as well as a former ASQ Certified Auditor and NQA-1 Lead Auditor, including NQA-1 Level III in piping and welding, I could do it, but I’m retired.

I am very picky about what rods I attend to. Send a pm with pics of your rod(s) to my assistant JayC41 and he will approve or deny your request.
Thank you for your time

Don't take this the wrong way and I will say I'm the son of a welder who died at 48. But 100,000 for handing out welding rods! It's no wonder work gets shipped overseas!

We’ve got Indian, Virgin Islands and South Africans working these jobs. Overseas workers are coming here.
You may have missed the point. There are a lot of 6 figure jobs down here and there’s not enough folks to fill them

Having credentials simply means you came up with the correct answers on the given day you took the test, and got a high enough percentage to pass, its not a sign of talent or intelligence.
I am a QA/QC/CWI , its no big deal,..................

NO workers are demanding $100K to hand out welding rods, its simply what the job pays,....
Can I work from home!!!..........and can I get week days off. I like to fish during the week, not as many people.

Tell you what, I'll take the job Mon-Thur, you get it Fri-Sun, and you let me live in at your fish camp on Rayburn on my off days, deal?
