What a tool! Everything's always about T.O.

The HOF should go Trump on his arse.

Re: T.O. Skipping His Induction - 06/07/18 05:14 PM

He is a tool, but somehow still likeable. If not for his antics from time to time he could of been much greater. He was on the Herd some time back talking about, at the age of 44, he still runs a 4.5 and thinks he could bring value to a play off team.. whether he is ring searching or playing to the media, it was an interesting topic.

Pompous azz can't share the stage, so he won't attend. Maybe they should rescind the offer.

Re: T.O. Skipping His Induction - 06/07/18 05:15 PM

Maybe he couldn't get anybody to speak on his behalf and this was his way of getting out of it.

I'm fairly certain he's significantly mentally ill

He’s admittedly broke, so he’s looking for all the pub he can get, that could possibly generate income potential.

He's definitely into being the center of attention and loves drama. I'm not certain that qualifies him as being mentally ill.

He bitched and moaned for years he should be in, which he should, but now can't be bothered to show up. What an idiot!

Narcissitic rage is not satisfied, even if they get their way.

Stats and that time he sucked it up and played on the broken ankle

He shouldn’t have due to his poor quality as a team mate.

I’d rank him the fourth best wideout of his generation
Randy Moss
Marvin Harrison
Torry Holt

My daughter has a friend who is 25. She is half asian, half persian, attractive but not too bright. She was at our house the other day excited that a former NFL player had started DM'ing her on social media. She didn't know who he was but he calls himself T.O. He had invited her to lunch (she would probably end up paying). I suggested that google was her friend.

Because a player that has not played in over 5 years isn't gonna attend his induction ceremony means its doomed?

Re: T.O. Skipping His Induction - 06/07/18 08:29 PM

**** move on his part. A lot of people supported his induction strictly on his numbers. Including myself. The least he could do is show up for the ceremony.

He had a great interview on the HOF radio show on NFL Radio brecently. Very humble and I admit after hearing that interview I'm surprised he is skipping the ceremony.

Maybe he can't afford plane fare.

Re: T.O. Skipping His Induction - 06/07/18 09:19 PM

It’s almost like TO is bi-polar. He can be humble and engaging one minute and then selfish and abrasive the next. Personally, if he does not want to be there, the HOF should consider themselves lucky. We know how miserable it can be when TO is somewhere he doesn’t want to be.

He’s not alone

Here are five athletes who filed for bankruptcy after their playing days were over.
Allen Iverson. Career Earnings: $150 million.
Boris Becker. Career Earnings: $126 million.
Antoine Walker. Career Earnings: $108 million.
John Daly. Career Earnings: between $55 million and $57 million.
Mike Tyson. Career Earnings $400 million.

I’ve seen this statement tossed around also:

According to a 2009 Sports Illustrated article, 78% of NFL players are either bankrupt or are under financial stress within two years of retirement and an estimated 60% of NBA players go bankrupt within five years after leaving their sport.

Re: T.O. Skipping His Induction - 06/07/18 10:35 PM

Copy n paste from the Internet... Dunno

A person with a firm grip on the situation informs me Iverson has an account worth $32 million, a principal he is prohibited from touching until 55. In the meantime, it feeds him $1 million annually...

cheers

Could the HOF members and voters retract his induction? If at all possible, 6lb 8oz little baby Jesus, please make this happen.

Re: T.O. Skipping His Induction - 06/07/18 10:58 PM

No
They considered doing that (O.J. Simpson) and didn’t

They also induct people that have already passed on (obviously unable to attend the ceremony)

Good point. Does it matter that OJ was already in the HOF, but TO hasn’t been inducted yet?
