TFF OT Camping/Fishing Trip... LAKE FALCON

Well not really camping but the rooms are rustic.

CollinCountyTX, Fitz and I are heading down for the second annual Falcon trip Feb 21st thru 25th.

We will be kayak fishing but everyone is welcome, bank fishing, boats, tubes etc.

You may recall last year Collin caught an 11.88lb bass! Who will get one this year?!

We will be staying near the State Park, and fishing that area and the damn area. PM me and I can tell who to call for a room.

Trophy bass fishing, beer, and warmer weather... sounds good to me! Come on down.

The full moon is Marc 1st and 31st. I�m thinking either Falcon or Rayburn this year. Unfortunately the last week of the month is a no go for me. I could never get the time off.

The cable tv is amazing at that motel. The outdoor kitchen does work pretty good though.

You could probably make some side money hauling burlap sacks from one side of the lake to the other under the cover of darkness.

Just talked to my wife... still a strong probably not. We didn't talk about anything to do with this though.

I wouldn't ask those two for extremely detailed advice. Not there's nothing wrong with it!

Man...dont say stuff like that. I hate snakes. We went this same time last year and though I had my head on a swivel for them I never saw one. See more at my local pond.

So I am going with Falcon does not have snakes, and sticking to that.

Is what Okie said right? About there being a lot of snakes? I been there 5 times and only ever saw one. It was tiny and way over on the Mexican side.

Only lake that I have ever seen a rattle snake swimming in.

Depends on the weather, Dan. On hot days I�ve seen a dozen hanging out in the stick ups. That�s fun when you�re in the middle of them in a kayak!

You stay out in the 40 foot water. CCTX and I will handle the <20 stuff if you�re that scared. Right, Doc?

Doc thought he was snagged for about 10 mins. Then asked if he had been moving. I was like that snag has moved at least 100 yards ha ha.

Fought that thing for an hour or more.

I�ve seen some serial snakes at Falcon in Feb. some lime green ones too. You�re screwed.

Whatever you do, don't try to pick up the coral snakes. Mean little buggers will get ya.

Looks like we are in for a weather change for next couple days. Will keep an eye out for y'all on the water tomorrow. Think we saw y'all late yesterday afternoon right before the wind got up. We are at the State Park stop by if you get a chance.

Thanks Hawki. Would be great to see you all. I was looking for your trailer and boat set up. We will likely be in Tigres today to get out of the wind (the very north arm of Tigres)

We did not go out till 3. Caught 1 crappie on a red trap. Didn't sound like anybody did well today at the take out this evening. Hopefully the guys did good in tigers today. It was and still is cool here.

Great trip. Snakes weren't bad. We had an 8.5 and a 7. Doc and Dale that is. I got nothing to speak of. But a great trip still.

Fitz, Dale, Tom and Doc are great guys to fish with.

we will do it again next year! The Plastic Navy will sail again on Falcon.

Great video. Usually when the "olds" jump and shake their head on me.... they throw the hook. And good to see you youngs are wearing Sun protection. I didn't for 30 years and pay the price every six months at the Dermotoligist.

I will be Alligator Gar fishing this year. Amazing fish, too much fun watching Doc fight that fish. Thought about grabbing the rod from his hand when I tossed him the scissors so I could pull on it. Haha.. Falcon is an outstanding fishery and I was impressed with the respect/space the motor boaters gave us kayakers. And there is a fine line flipping Bushes that are covered in thorns, when the wind is blowing, and you're in a kayak. Few new holes in my clothes and subsequently skin. I'm glad I can finally say I've fished Falcon.

I shot dove in south Texas for many years. Everything has thorns.

Thanks. I got lucky she ate the Crankbait well. Usually pretty good with the sun protection�full face mask most of the time.

I'll echo what Fitz said. The glitter boats were numerous but fished us clean. Were respectful of where we were and operated safely around us.

Hope that catches on at DFW lakes.
