Got to use the Texan Trough!!! In New Jersey

How's it going fellas! I'm excited all around because my time up here is almost at its end and retirement is a couple more months away! But for now I'm just happy that I was able to use the newly built Texan Trough. What an amazing day of fishing I had in New Jersey of all places. Who'd of thought they had fishing like that up here. That was AWESOME! I fished the Jamaica Bay Kayak tournament once upon a time. Was very surprised at how beautiful those waters were with New York City skyline in background. Met a lot of good folks there. I thought I heard you say in video that you will be fishing that tournament soon. If so, visit the Wolfpack group that sets up every year.

This will be my second J-Bay Tournament. Last year I tied for second place with my striper going 39". This will definitely be another great time! It's a shame that we don't have anything like it back home.

Totally agree.

What I remember most was that there was a 6 foot tide differential from high to low and that paddling against the current and wind was brutal. Understood in one day why 80% of kayak fishermen were in Hobies. The second day I traded the Ocean Kayak Trident I was using for a Hobie pedal machine.

I wish I had a camera lens that could capture what we see out there. That backdrop is crazy awesome! Manhattan in the distance and the quality fishery beneath you!!! Just doesn't seem real.

JFK airport is on Jamaica Bay and every time I would see a jet airliner come and go it made me think of 9/11 and what it would have looked like from Jamaica Bay that day. Strange feeling.
