No bites from bass, crappie, or bluegills. Can't find any shad anywhere. So I guess I'll keep
going out for catfish. Carry on.

wow, nice. I would rather go bass fishing and catch a couple of cats than go home skunked. Better going home with a stretched line even if it is a turtle....... well maybe not a turtle.

[font:Times New Roman]Yo Joe- Them little dudes fry up reel good or swimming in grease/oil.
They sure look like dandy griddle size.
Could be a lot worse and been rained out or dealing with business/job/politicians etc.duel

Retired 2 yrs and haven't been able to fish last 18 mos. with bulging discs but sure
like to see folks even catching ol' Mr. whiskers. food

Got a few mud cats mixed in with the channels on Saturday. Wonder how they taste?

We used to eat them all the time when I was a kid. I don't remember them being particularly muddy tasting.
Only one way to find out!

If you clean the redline and the silver skin well you wont be able to tell them from the channels by taste.

Mud cats taste just fine. Soak the filets in water to get the oil out if you don't like the taste of catfish. All catfish eat the same!

I want to try "shucking" bullheads.

I've done the same trick with Channel cats. It doesn't work quite as well as it does in the video with the bullheads, but it is still easier than skinning them on a nail in a tree, lol.
I usually end up filleting them after pulling the head off.
