Best Kayak fishing close? - 06/18/16 07:25 PM

Hi all, my girlfriend and I live in Granbury. Where is the closest good fishing I can take her with our kayaks? Would love to get her into bass or strippers if possible. Thank you.

Not sure you should take your girlfriend where you can find strippers...

Lake Granbury has stripers and largemouth, wheeler branch has largemouth, smallmouth and walleye, the Brazos below Granbury has striper but it is tough to get to, there is also Pat Cleburne with largemouth and sand bass.

I tried to get my girlfriend into strippers as well but she really frowned upon it......and my wife just flat balked.

Take her to Wheeler Branch in Glen Rose. Can't say the fishing is commonly all that good, the Lawnmower Man at the park can drive you nuts during the week, but it is a nice place to paddle and see the fish you're trying to catch.
