Lake Holbrook - 05/28/16 09:42 PM
Planning to fish Lake Holbrook soon and was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for me and a few buddies. We will be looking for some LMB. It will be my first time on the lake in a kayak. I fished the lake as a kid from my grand parents dock but thats it. Thanks

The lake is 30 min or less south of Lake Fork in Mineola for those who don't know. We are planning to go out there next Sat. Hopefully we'll do good. I'll make a report after the trip. The lake is only about 650 acres. Its smaller than White Rock lake. My buddies are gonna hit Fork on Sun. Wish I could join them but I have to head back Sat. evening.

Look up Holbrook on TPWD. Find the Structure and Cover section and you will find a map to brush piles that have been placed all over the lake. The brush piles hold fish most of the year.

Thanks Artie! I had looked at that its pretty cool. There are 2 public ramps. We were trying to decide which one to launch at. I'm thinking the south ramp for Sat. If I get a chance to go back I'll try the other end of the lake and launch from the west side further north on the lake.
