Transport question Ride 115

Transport question Ride 115 - 04/20/16 05:03 PM

I just lucked up on a two month old Ride 115x max angler kayak for an awesome price. I'm supposed to go get it this evening.

My question is I have a F250 with the 6.5' bed. I loose about a foot for a bed cover so 5.5' of bed available. With the tailgate down, do I need anything else to support the kayak?

Sorry if it sounds like a noob question but I don't want to damage the kayak.

A bed extender is one option:

A bed extender for support and a red flag. Lights if you're driving in the dark or the rain.

i seen yaks just hanging out the bed with no extra support. just make sure use a lot of rope and wench it down well. put the red flag or red shirt at the tail end hanging off (required by law). the 115 has holes in the haul and you can run the rope in there to the truck tie downs. I have the 115x . you will love it!

for a 115x a full size bed is fine to transport without an extender, just angle it caddy cornered in the bed. If you have small truck like I do then a bed extender is a must
