Nucanoe Frontier 12 Minn Kota Question - 07/11/15 11:39 AM

Can anyone recommend a particular Minn Kota trolling motor model and other advice for the first time installation on stern of a Frontier 12, for lake fishing?

I have the same kayak and I use a minn kota endura c2 30. It scoots along pretty good. I hook it up to an interstate dcm0035 and I can usually get a good 3 - 4 hours out of it depending on how much water I want to cover. I just clamp the endura on to the stern. I am fixing to buy a enduramax 45 though. It has a battery meter on it so you know how much juice you have left and they claim that the enduramax will help your battery last longer. Plus the extra thrust will be nice. Check out the forum section on nucanoe website and there's a lot of good rigging tips on there.

Anything up to a 2.5hp or electric is fine.

May it be safely assumed that you know you will need to have TX number registration on your Frontier if you add that trolling motor.

The registration will be a whole lot less expensive than a ticket!
