Heritage Angler/Redfish 12 - transducer mount question

Heritage Angler/Redfish 12 - transducer mount question - 05/19/15 10:09 PM

I've had a heritage angler 12' for a few years now. Love the boat. Thinking about adding a fish finder.

From what I've read, it seem it would be ok to mount the transducer inside the hole because it can shoot through the plastic pretty well. Can anyone speak to their experience on this?

I'd planned to mount it in the front dry storage. That part of the hull kinda angles up from the middle to the front. Wouldn't that alter the angle at which the beam shoots??

The boat came with a Scotty rod holder mount. Thinking about getting the fish finder adapter for it.

I am selling the same boat you have and I didi what you are planning to do. It works just fine plus all your cables are out of the way. If you want to I take a couple of pictures this weekend to show you what I did.
