STOP PAYING TOO MUCH FOR SHALLOW WATER ANCHORS! CHECK THIS OUT! - 04/17/15 07:00 PM

We now have all the parts in stock to build your own shallow water anchor for much less than the pre-built ones on the market. Rods come in 8' sections. We have both balck and white, solid fiberglass rods along with all the hardware you will need. Pricing below.

8' Fiberglass Rod ( Black or White) $17.99
Stainless Steel Tip $9.95
T Handle $9.95
Male Connector $12.95
Female Connector $12.95

To build an 8' foot pole you need...
1-T Handle
1- Fiberglass Rod
1-Stainless point
JB Weld 2 part epoxy (original)
Build them so they will connect together and have a shallow water anchor any length you need.

Most brand name pre-assembled 8' shallow water anchors are selling for $100. These are the same material for much, much less. Stop by and see for yourself.

Dang, I just built one out of PVC last weekend. When that one gives up I will definitely come your way though.

We sold quite a few the past couple days. If you need a shallow water anchor this is the way to go. Less than half of what you would pay for most shallow water anchors that are available on the market.

Thanks for offering this! Seen them offered directly from that website but never pulled the trigger because of the cost of shipping.

I picked one of these up on saturday and I just wanted to drop a note to say i appreciate the price but also the helpful attitude and philosophy of not charging more than you have too in order to make a little money. It seems that quality is increasingly rare these days and it did note go unnoticed. Also it took all of 5 minutes to put together and 24hrs to cure.
Thank you

I had Rick build me one for an extra $10 charge last week; but, instead of an 8 footer, I had him splice in another piece to bring its overall length to and optional 12 feet. My thinking? I can break it down to 8 feet for typical stake outs in the shallows . . . or lengthen it to use it as a push pole for my canoe.

Another "Brad," he in his Kayak and me in my Sportspal, met up and fished Wheeler Branch working toward the dam first, then we hit some of the coves over on the west side. The device worked great for pushing around and maneuvering a canoe. I didn't have it set up to pin to the canoe for a stake-out but I did drive it down in the mud and could see that it would work great for that, too.

I stand almost all the time to fish and even paddle and even though my canoe is super stable, that pole adds even more stability in the same fashion a pole works for someone walking a tightrope.

Thumbs up, anyway, and what a nice store Rick has.

Mine is in three sections: a long main piece with the point on the end, a shorter piece with the handle, then again as I mentioned I have another section that I can splice in to adjust from 8' to 12'.

What I was trying to do was have an 8 footer for staking out in the shallows, then a 12 footer where I can stand in my canoe and use it as a push pole.

But, endless combos I suppose with limitations based on weight. And, each time you add a section you will need more of the connectors.

That is a great price, but unfortunately, I would spend 2X that coming up there to get one. I will have to make due with what I can cobble together with parts from Home Depot. smile

How do these rods hold up to UV rays?
Do they need to be painted or coated with something?

I've never heard of UV damaging them.

Sounds like a good solution to the age old problem of anchoring your boat,
but I like natures way too! We have lots of green yupon green on our
farm, last weekend before last I cut a 9' ft pc, green of course, shaved it
soom with my machete and made a nice sharp point on the end, made a great simple
anchor in shallow water at Lake Somerville in the flats.... little wind came up,
but held nicly. Yes it cheap, if I loose it no biggie go cut another one. Thought
about bamboo, but its too lite I think, breaking point is a little lower.

keep fishing...
