Should be interesting with the break in the weather. I might try Cooper too. Not with a fly rod, but still like the reports.

Mike- KW is pretty low on anyones care-about list these days. I did get out late on Saturday on the CC to try and get my "water in the fuel" problem wrapped up. I think I got it this time, for the most part. A little carpet and a couple other fixes and it will be for sale. Or the PA will... rolfmao

thats good hank. i wont be doing KW anymore. and i think people get carried away with strictly kayak fishing. i fish from bank/boat/kayak and its nice to have a change of pace. that is why you should keep both henry. wink if you take your boat watch out for my anchor line i had to cut last weekend. smile

My jon boat went on the sale block today. I do bank, wade, and kayak fish.
I've even been known to frequent a fishing barge or two!

Never been to cooper but this makes me want to get out there.

I'm a newbie to the fly. James, would a 6wt be ok out there?

I'm heading over to Tyler for a birthday party for one of my kids' friends, so I'm thinking of hitting Tyler SP. I've heard it's a nice paddle.

I would recommend at least a 6 or 7wt. Floating line.
I use a variety of flies depending on how the fish are staging.
Large poppers for schooling fish. Clousers for fish staged no deeper than 8-10 feet.
Heavy clousers or streamers on sink tip line for fish staged deeper (up to 40ish feet).
I've recently tied some large streamers that rattle to imitate a Rattle Trap.

I'd like to see that Jerry. This is one I came up with. Used sili-skin with a bit of lead wire to weight it.

I like those!!!
These also work really well. They are heavy enough to get deep enough into the water column and the glass beads rattle very nicely. Hopefully imitating a Rattle Trap sound. They also are long and flashy.

I might try texoma again. Has anyone ever pitched a tent on the islands or know if it's allowed?

Since Im broke and cant afford gas to palces like Fork, etc. ill be sticking to the local waters. Probably the Trinity River in and around Fort Worth. Been having good luck on topwaters early hoping they will be fired up this weekend. Good luck to everyone fishing!
