Stake out pole parts

Stake out pole parts - 05/14/18 03:23 PM

I could use a shove in the right direction for some stake out pole parts.

I found some nice 3/4" diameter, 8' long fiberglass rod. So the pole itself it already found.

Instead of just pushing pvc parts into use on the rod, I would like a nice T handle. Any sources for a T handle that will fit a 3/4" rod at a reasonable price?

The second piece that I am after is a metal tip to go onto the end of the rod.

Thanks for the help.

You might give this company a look for parts to your pole.

FLIP N GO, thanks cor the link. That's a big web site, were you thinking of using the brass cane handles or is there another product that they sell that you were thinking about using?
The brass would be cool, but originally thinking of some kind of rubber or polymer T handle. The brass sure would look custom.

Anglers Pro Tackle used to carry all the parts to build your own, not sure about now.

APT is where I got mine.

And, actually, I just had them put it all together. One thing mine does is it screws apart in several places so its length can be adjusted to 3 sizes.

I use mine all the time on my canoe, works so great just stabbing it through the ring on an anchor trolley.

I purchased my rods and all the parts from MGS.

I'll have to call them. The website for APT says that the website is down for maintenance and redesign.

Clay34, a very under-utilized piece of gear, stake-out poles, that is.

So often we kayak anglers are working in waters <10' so a pole becomes a super fast way to lock down a general position. I like to use mine in combination with an anchor trolley where the pole remains pushed through the ring.

All I do is leave it horizontal, float up to a place I want to spend a bit of time, then I just twist the handle up in the air, plunge the thing down into mud. Sometimes I run it back to the stern on the trolley, if the wind is really high, else I just leave it sort of behind my left shoulder (I'm left handed).

A great piece of equipment, for sure.

Same thought process Brad. I want to use it with my anchor trolley and if it gets windier, I'll double up with my anchor wizard off the bow. Maybe you remember the post in "rigging" about an anchor trolley with anchor wizard?

I've been using an anchor pole at 6', now just moving to an 8' pole.
