Thinking about getting this kayak, any information on this kayak would be much appreciated.
Stability, stand-ability, speed, and any thing else you could include.

Also is this the best kayak for all around fishing fresh water, inshore, and occasionally offshore.

Is there another kayak at the same price point that is better than the trident 13?

Thank you for any feedback!

Haven't paddled an Ocean Kayak Trident in many years. At the time, the Trident Ultra 4.7 (15'4") was as good as it gets outfitted with rudder and Ice Pod. It was definitely one of best paddling and thought out kayaks at the time for inshore/offshore fishing for bigger guys needing carrying capacity. Not sure about the new Tridents but from the specs, it should be one of the best for doing a lot of things well.

Here is link to discontinued Ultra... Still one of the best looking kayaks in my opinion.

Glad to hear the hull is the same as the discontinued model. My kind of boat!

Here is an Ultra 4.3 at 47% off: Ultra 4.3 2NDS

I would call and get a good description of what is exactly a 2ND. Remember that Jackson and many other companies sell 2NDS. I looked at some Jackson 2NDS and they were simple things like the color not being 100% perfect. On this Ocean Kayak, I don't have the answers and suggest to proceed with caution and verification, BUT the pricing is sure crazy attractive and cheaper than many used boats. Check on the warranty too.

Looks like a grand boat for offshore or big water. Probably not as maneuverable as some would want on small creeks or rivers. If you are a paddler and want to cover ground, this looks like a very nice option.

Does your name mean you're big on bass fishing or a big guy? The stated weight capacity of that kayak is 355 lbs, which would include you plus all of your gear--rods, tackle boxes, cooler, possible sonar and battery, etc. I wouldn't put more than 250 lbs of stuff in it, otherwise performance will suffer and safety could be compromised.

haha yea I grew up bass fishing so it means I am big on Bass fishing, but size wise I am 6' and 190 pounds.
So I should have about 50-60 pounds of weight I could add too the kayak to keep it at a good weight capacity.

Thank you for the reply Tallgrass05, do you know anything about this kayak from personal experience?

Nope, I don't know anything about that particular one. There will be reviews on sites like paddling.com, ack.com, yakangler.com, etc. Demo, demo, demo if you can.
