inflatable pontoon boat - 10/12/15 09:33 PM

I am considering purchasing this inflatable pontoon boat and wondered if anyone had any experience with this boat or one like it.

If you will be assembling/dissembling each time you go it will be a giant hassle. If you will keep the boat assembled on a trailer, it will be easier- but there are minor issues with trailers. It should go faster than a 2 man buster boat, assuming only the pontoons touch the water and the central foot support area doesn't. The stand up lean bar may be an advantage if FF. Sitting up high a disadvantage in holding position when it be windy.

LOVE2FLYFISH!! I have a sea eagle 285 one man pontoon and I love it bought it from a guy about two years ago and I it has become my best friend. I have had it on several big body lakes like Cedar Creek, Lavon and white rock!!! very comfortable and steady. floats very good and I's able to stand up in it and I weigh 255 lbs !! it holds me very well. So yes Sea eagle are some very reliable boats. The only thing is it takes sometime to air it up and put all accessories on it, but its a great investment. I am looking for me a trailer now for it. GOOD LUCK with your purchase!!! fish

Thanks for the input.

Mr. Jig my second choice is the two man version of the 285. Do you have an outboard or just a trolling motor?
I won't be able to leave it aired up. We are buying an RV next year and I need something inflatable that will travel. Fifteen on
twenty minutes to get ready to fish is just a trade off for a boat that will work in a RV. Don't like it but a necessary evil.

fish love2flyfish I have a 55lb trolling motor on my sea eagle and it works great. I want to travel light as possible and I thought about an 3 horse but its too much weight I want to be able to be as quiet as possible when I'm crappie fishing or any fishing!!! plus I can control the boat better with a trolling motor specially in the creeks and on open water. Maybe we can get together some time and fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fish MR. JIG

Trebles tend to hang up on fabric areas on boats,-also clothing fabrics, hats, gloves, etc. When there is a smooth PVC coating on the pontoons they will usually slide coming in over them. Treble angle and slickness of the coating means they usually don't stick in. They will penetrate if they somehow catch the surface coating and there is a strong force. Inflatables will excel in certain situations-lifeboats, running some rapids, pack boat for remote areas, etc.

I also have the 285 pro and love it. I use a 45# thrust trolling motor that will scoot across the water on full power.
