Bass Raider Lights

I have a 10' Bass Raider with a 30 pound trolling motor and a white kayak stick light on the stern. Do I need the red & green lights on the bow to operate at night on public water?

Does anyone have any suggestions for cheap green and red lights that work well on a Bass Raider? I have the trolling motor mounted on the bow.

Only ones I'm aware of that are coast guard approved for the 2 mile visibility rule are the navisafe lights. They are LED and super bright, ie, safe. You don't want someone guessing if you're a boat or a light across the lake. Make sure they see you. they are about $60 each. For the front lights, You can glue the flat magnetic base to your bassbuster then just afix the light to the magnetic base as needed.

If you want cheap, check these out. They won't last 6 months and are no more bright than a flashlight.

Academy has the same type clamp on for same price but with a longer extension, which will help you be seen from further away. I use this type for my 10' Bass Raider. I don't fish at night very much so this work just fine for me, I mainly use it to get back to the launch late in the evening. I had it for over a year and the LED's are much brighter that incandescent bulbs.

I went with the Attwood AAA battery powered lights. The reviews mostly complained about the plastic C-clamps breaking which I did not use. I cut the pole down and screwed it to the bow. The light housing has a clip which allows it to slide on and off the pole allowing for easy battery replacement. In the picture below, it looks like it extends out past the bow but it doesn't so it wont get smashed against the back of the pickup bed.
