Broken Bow Lake 5/25-5/26 - 05/28/16 03:04 AM
Went to Broken Bow for the first time and it will not be the last. The lake and surroundings are beautiful and the water is very clean and clear. My wife and I got a cabin through Blue Beaver Cabins which is about 10 minutes from the marina. These aren't what I would call cabins - granite counter tops, wood floors, and nice furniture and beds. I would recommend it for a getaway where you can keep the wife happy and fish. Hochatown has a winery, brewery, and a great pizza place and tap room.
On to the fishing report - we caught smallmouth, spots, and largemouths from up shallow out to about 15 feet. The wife was fishing a 1.5 square bill in shad patterns and I was throwing a 5" senko in watermelon/black flake. Anywhere we found trees with deep water close by seemed to be the ticket. We fished the south end as we didn't have any reason to go north since we were having good luck in our areas.
If you are going soon, PM me and I'll show you the spots we had the most luck on.
