Lake is getting better. Best 5 went 17lbs with a 9lb 8oz kicker.

Nice catch! I recently got a boat and have started learning the lake after years fishing from the state park. Been trying to find some good crappie and gar spots, but might have to give bass a try.

Yes, give the bass fishing at Mathis a shot. Don't go to Choke, it's a Dead Sea you know... Mathis is the place to go.

Fished 3 hrs this morning and they were turned on. Caught 8 with only 2 being under. Best 5 went 12+ lbs. Nothing big. 3 lber was the biggest.

Choke has indeed gotten better, I've been catching some decent fish. Now if we can just get some water in it.
